Sail 360360's Quick Launch:
Sure! This is an elementary trick, if not down right silly. Big Whoopee! A person sailing around all day spinning sail-360s is like the daffy duck of sailing. But, the beauty of this move is the useful skill you are gaining in order to perform a bunch of other tricks like the Duck-Jibe and Clew-First-what-cha-ma-call-its.
Rider: Royn Bartholdi
1)
Unhook, get out of the straps and start heading down wind.
2)
Bend those t-ball knees, reach way back on the boom with your back hand, and push the mast forward and extend the front arm.
3)
Let go! The mast will swing away from you so reach for the very back of the boom. Your arms will cross during this action.
4)
The sail will swing...
5)
Now quickly grab the other side of the sail as far up the boom as possible followed by the other hand.
6)
Grab the boom with the other hand. You are now sailing clew first. You may opt to just grab with the front hand only.
7)
Pull the mast to your body while letting go of the clew hand so the sail will rotate again.
8)
Cross you arms and grab the other side of the boom.
9)
Let go with the other and get both hand on the boom.
10)
Adjust, sail away.
