1)
While the board is facing fin first, position the sail on the water so you can water start.

Sometimes the fin will be pointing down wind so one technique is to push on the nose with the upwind arm and pull the boom head into the wind with the other.

Align your body in the waterstart position by floating the sail above you.

Place the back foot between the nose of the board and the mast base.

Extend the arms and water start as usual but guide the board with the back foot to keep the fin pointing in direction you are starting. The tail will want to round up and down wind.

Now shift your weight onto the back foot.
7)
Place the front foot on the board so you are straddling the mast base.
8)
Guide the board with the clew hand.
9)
Guide the board so the fin goes down wind while sheeting out and keeping your body weight close to the mast.
10)
Step one foot to the other side of the board.
11)
Sheet in and step farther back on the board.
12)
Reposition the other foot behind the mast, trim and sail away.
