A flatwater Tacka (sometimes called a Swayze) or in other words,
an aerial windward 360. The great Web Pedrick was the
1st to stick this move.
The Flaka completes the freestyle Trilogy: Spock, Flaka, Grubby.
The Standard Flaka
has the usual variations: One-Hand, Clew-1st,
Switch Stance, and Diablo.
The advanced variations include the Double Flaka, The Meev, and the
Cana Brava.
I have seen many accomplished sailors work on a move months on end,
hours each day, and finally stick the move, only to sit in the bar
and brag to the "Lower Level Sailors" how easy the move is to learn
-- just a few hours -- and every moron should be able to learn this move.
Oh really? Don't be fooled by the egotistal
sailors trying to outdo everyone else and create some sort of myth
about themselves. All maneuvers are hard to learn!
So for every sailor trying to improve their sailing I say Thumbs Up
and in the Aussie vernacular -- "Good on ya Mate!".
